Meet the founder of MerseyMade, the unique retail outlet, café and hub showcasing & celebrating local artisans. 

In this episode, Sophie meets Vicky Gawith, Founder of Mersey Made - a unique space that brings together creative entrepreneurs in a stimulating, supportive and positive environment, in the heart of the city centre.

With a strong ‘Shop Local’ ethos, MerseyMade enables local creatives and artists to be able to showcase and sell their work locally with as few barriers as possible. It also highlights the creative talent that we have on Merseyside. 

Alongside, studios, retail and events space, MerseyMade also has a café, open to all. 

In this conversation, Sophie and Vicky discuss topics such as: 

  • Vicky’s inspiration for starting MerseyMade - she wanted to make a community hub to support creatives locally to sell their work year-round 
  • The eclectic mix of makers that comprise the 100-strong MerseyMade community - experts in everything from gin, to jam, locally-made honey, jewellery, nail art, origami, candlestick makers, ‘Mersey Cider’ and more 
  • Other places to buy - including the popup at Liverpool One 
  • MerseyMade’s studios, retail space, event space and varied events 
  • How she is most proud of MerseyMade being an inclusive and safe space - MerseyMade won the LGBTQ+ Ally award in 2022.
